25.07.2005 - Windows Vista: A Trademark Infringement

Technology company Vista has thrown a lawsuit at Microsoft Inc. for the new title for the future version of the Windows Operating System.

John Wall, owner of Vista says he was concerned if he didn’t do something about it fast, Microsoft Inc. may have attacked him for trademark infringment, even though he held the trademark much earlier.

One of Microsoft’s Spokesman claims the Microsoft Inc. chose the name Vista by selecting their favorites from a large list of names developed by the Windows team.

Trademark and branding experts congratulate Microsoft for choosing a well-brandable name, unlike XP, which they claim is a “odd letter/acronym combination”.
