13.01.2005 - "United Bakers" warn about the inadmissibility of illegal use of their brands.

The "United Bakers" Holding Company, the leading confectionery producer in Russia, warns about the inadmissibility of unauthorized use of the brands belonging to their leading enterprises - the joint-stock companies "Babayevsky", "Red October" and "Rot Front".

"The matter concerns the huge amount of products imported to Russia from confectionary factories in the Commonwealth of Independent States in packages bearing the brands belonging to the joint-stock companies "Red October", "Babayevsky" and "Rot Front" or resembling them to the extent of actual confusion without the permission of the brand holders, a news release of the Holding Company said.

The news release also mentions that Article 4 of Act about Trade Marks Act, service trademarks and the origin mark of goods enables the said joint-stock companies to forbid any other enterprises to import and use the confectionery products bearing their trademarks.

In view of this the Federal Customs have included a number of brands belonging to these companies in the Federal Customs register of intellectual property objects, the news release said.
